Founded in 1969, the Hui O' Hawaiʻi of San Diego was formed to preserve the cultural heritage of Hawai’i, creating and fostering a spirit of Aloha between the community and the people of Hawaiʻi by taking an active interest in civic, social and moral welfare of the community. Bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding are but a small part of this organization. Upon these principals, the Hui O' Hawaiʻi of San Diego conducts its continuing effort to preserve our heritage.

On May 21, 2024, The Hui O Hawaiʻi of San Diego was recognized by Proclamation, alongside several other Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Organizations, for our outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the citizens of San Diego County. The Proclamation ceremony took place at the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors administrative building and was presented to the Hui O Hawaii by Chairwoman Nora Vargas and Vice-Chair Terra Lawson-Remer. We are forever grateful to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for their support. Mahalo nui!
